Approximately 60 acres of available land must be reserved for future development of a privately owned Resort/Casino on Fort Monroe. I can only imagine the fantastic draw that this would create for the City of Hampton and the Peninsula. I would market this idea on a national scale. Hundreds of new jobs, property taxes, and a great tourist draw would be some of the benefits that would result. Now might not be the time due to the economy , but keeping adequate space for this would be excellent planning for the future. Also, there is no competition for us within hundreds of miles in all directions. $25,000,000 sounds like a reasonable price for this acreage in todays market.
